The internet quotes 47,500 points one way and stops there. Two numbers matter. Virgin went dynamic in October 2024, so 47,500 is a live peak price, not a fixed sticker; the Amex +30% window, in its final week, turned it into 36,539 MR each. And Virgin’s own metal carries a real fuel surcharge, about $707 from JFK after the April 2026 hike, so we print it in the ledger, because cost per point after fees is the only honest cpp.

The insight: same map as the 10th, different month position. Every door to Virgin still opens; the window is what changes the ranking. Amex is paying +30% in its final week, so this month it is the cheapest first number. The second number, the surcharge, is set by the airline, not the program, and it does not move with the bonus.
